Kayllie and Doug met at Penn State, and everyone knows I love a good college love story. We began our session outside of Kayllie's dorm where Doug picked her up for their first dates. Can you think of anything more romantic? I loved getting to know these two in a place that is so close to their hearts.
How did the two of you meet? We met at the first club tennis meeting and practice in late September of our freshman year at Penn State. I remember thinking something like, "He is very tall. And cute. And has a huge racquet bag, so he must be really good." Doug remembers that I caught his eye because I was the only tennis player from Pittsburgh he didn't know. As teammates, we became friends until Doug asked me out to drinks at Cafe 210 West on November 5, 2011.
Tell me about the proposal! On March 13, 2015, (which was a Friday but definitely not an unlucky day) Doug suggested we should go to the Tanger outlets and get lunch on the way. Since neither of us was hungry yet, Doug recommended we go on a walk at South Park as it was nice outside for a change. We came to a pond with a gazebo nearby. He distracted me by pointing out ducks in the pond while his brother Matt surreptitiously placed himself on a bench close to us. At just the right moment, Doug proposed.
What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day? We are most looking forward to being married to each other and celebrating with our friends and family. We plan on dancing the night away!
Of course, we had to make a stop at the Creamery!
Kayllie and Doug, thank you so much for reliving your college days with me. I am so thrilled to be celebrating with you in May!
