Iceland | Day 2

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return. - Leonardo da Vinci

This was hands down one of our favorite days. Maybe it was the black sand beaches or finally feeling the sun. Or maybe it was witnessing the Northern Lights for the very first time. This was the main reason we scheduled our trip for the fall, hoping we would catch a glimpse. But after the first day of wind and rain and clouds, we doubted we would see much of anything. After a sunset hike through Skaftafell National Park, Todd was convinced we should drive further out and hope to catch something in the night sky. After lots of waiting, some unique looking clouds appeared. We set up the long exposure on my camera and began to see streaks of green. Todd was literally jumping up and down as the sky came alive, and it was such a joy to see his dream become real life.
