Two weeks ago I was getting ready for the most gorgeous wedding. I knew that Jekyll Island was going to be stunning, but Eric and Lauren planned a truly perfect day. The entire island is filled with giant oak trees and historic mansions. Because I studied architecture in college, this place was heaven on earth!
I met Lauren in college but with different schedules, we were never very close. After spending a couple of days with her and Eric, I wish we had known each other better years ago. They are both sweethearts, and I enjoyed being a part of their special day.
Lauren got ready in the Cherokee Cottage, where the reception would take place later that evening. She was such a laid back bride, and I could tell that nothing could get her down. Even if some minor details did not go as planned, Lauren knew that she would be married to her best friend at the end of the day. I loved her attitude and sweet spirit. And let's talk about that dress. It could not have been more perfect for this setting!
While Lauren was downstairs, Eric was getting ready in another room. Don't let his smile fool you...I could tell he had some wedding jitters :).
The ceremony took place on the Riverfront Lawn and was straight out of a magazine. I was honestly a little scared that the Georgia weather would be hot and humid, but these two had the perfect day.
What made this intimate wedding really special were the guests. Eric and Lauren invited their closest friends and family, and by the end of the day, I felt like I was part of the group, too! Everyone was so sweet, and Eric and Lauren are incredibly blessed to be surrounded by so many loving people.
We made a quick trip to the Driftwood Beach for some sunset portraits. I could not have asked for a more perfect backdrop for this adorable couple.
Lauren, you are so stunning!
We ended the evening with a low country boil in front of the cottage. I honestly felt like I was at a Tuscan villa, it was so beautiful. Surrounded by great people and good conversation was the perfect way to finish out this lovely day.
Eric and Lauren, I cannot thank you enough for inviting me to be a part of your gorgeous day. The dress and details were lovely, but the best part was witnessing your beautiful love. Congratulations you two!
